Workshops
Workshops were a major component of the forum. Workshops were not expected to reach consensus positions, rather they were intended to explore and describe options.
Prior to the meeting, every participant received a copy of an overview paper & a discussion paper for each of the seven workshops:
Overview: The need for a new frame
- Promotion of innovation, green chemistry and alternative materials
- Defining and obtaining good quality information for decision making
- Improving Information Flows � in Supply Chains and Beyond
- Integration of US and Global chemical initiatives
- Promotion and development of substitution and alternatives assessment
- Integrating improved chemicals management into business processes, including product design
- Improving our understanding of substance flows through the economy
Each participant took part in two workshops, one on Thursday and one on Friday. On Friday afternoon, some very initial outcomes of the workshops were presented by the Rapporteurs � these seven presentations have been combined into one presentation.
After the meeting, the rapporteurs wrote up summary reports of the workshop discussions:
