"Workshop on Implementing the European Union's New REACH Legislation," September 2007

"Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3) Innovators Roundtable: The Role of Tools, Labels, and Retail in Promoting Safer Chemistry,"
April 2007
The Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3) was formed by attendees participating in Sustainable Business and Safer Chemistry Through the Supply Chain: An Innovators Roundtable (see below for details), at the Darden School of Business in 2005. Since then, GC3 participants have continued dialogue, information sharing, and collaboration around safer chemicals and products. This April's meeting built on progress made since Darden and explored new avenues for innovation and collaboration.

"Chemicals Policy Training Series," Summer, 2006

"Sustainable Business and Safer Chemistry Through the Supply Chain: An Innovators Roundtable," November 2005
The LowellCenter partnered with the Darden School of Business at University of Virginia at Charlottesville to host a 2-and-a-half day roundtable discussion from November 14-16, 2005. The meeting brought together representatives from industry, government, and academia to discuss the challenges and opportunities in greening the supply chain.

"Framing a Future Chemicals Policy," April 2005
In April 2005, the Lowell Center hosted a multi-stakeholder forum for the first North American dialogue about sustainable chemicals policy. The meeting brought together chemical producers, downstream users, representatives of government and non-government organizations, and others for presentations and group discussions on key elements of a more sustainable chemicals policy. The meeting was organized with the assistance of a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee.

"Designing Safer Alternatives," December 2004
In December 2004, the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production convened a group of 40 North American and European experts in chemicals substitution, alternatives assessment, life cycle assessment and product policy from government, industry, academia, and the nonprofit sector to discuss ways to improve and coordinate alternatives assessment processes.

"European Chemical Experts Tour," October 2003
In October 2003, just prior to the publication of the REACH proposal, LCSP organized a four-city tour of the US by a group of European chemicals experts. For more information see the Chemicals Policy Tour web page.
